UCSD Cambodian Student Association cordially invites you to attend our 7th Annual Culture show, “Birth of the Khmer Empire.” A young boy (played by Liang Tea) takes the journey of a lifetime through the birth of the Khmer Empire. He journeys to the Neak Empire where he meets his true love, Princess Soma (played by Tamala Svay). This year’s culture show is based off of the legendary story detailing the creation of Southeast Asia’s greatest empire: the Khmer Empire. We look forward to seeing you there! *****UCSD CSA will also be holding a Shoe Drive for Project Angkor. Project Angkor is a medical mission consisting of medical professionals from all over the United States who come together once a year and provide FREE medical care and FREE prescription drugs for the poor people of Cambodia. This year’s story will be based on the Hindu epic, The Ramayana which will follow the story of a young man and his lover. Many popular characters in Khmer culture will be portrayed such as Hanuman and Sovann Machha. Come watch this story found in Cambodian culture that has become somewhat lost through the years.
